Title
The Black Angels Live at Desert Daze on 2019-10-13

description
I've seen The Black Angels probably 3 or 4 times (I've honestly lost count off the top of my head) at various festivals, but I knew this night and this set was going to be something special. This band feels like they were made for this type of festival and it's crowd. And without a doubt, this was the best set/performance I've seen from the band, hands down. The entire set kicked ass from start to finish. And Desert Daze, knowing how to handle this sort of shit, gave the band 70 minutes, rather than a standard 45-50 minute set, meaning more songs, which just meant more of a good time for all involved and there. They played a couple of new songs, including one called "Vermillion Eyes" which just utterly blew me away (perhaps my favorite song I heard live ALL weekend long, no joke). In fact, after they ended that song, both Stacie and I (you can hear it on the recording) were just flabber-gasted, and could only mutter "holy shit" or something to that effect. In fact the entire set left us with that feeling, as evident by Stacie yelling "holy fuck!" as the band left the stage. That pretty much sums up everything. As for the recording, it runs very shitty and hot in the beginning, because I had just ran over from the smaller stage to try and catch the first notes, and made it just in the nick of time, but I had to adjust the levels about 30 seconds into the recording as I found my spot to record. It was a little windy too, but nothing to major. Just crank it and fuck everything else.
