Title
Bas Clas Live at Cotton Club on 1988-02-02

description
Bas Clas opened the show at the Cotton Club in Atlanta for the Arms Akimbo record release party for 688 Records. The band was into its 11th year and 4th drummer, with North Carolina native David Baker pounding the skins from 1987 to 1991. This show features the only known live recording of the song "Charlie" as well as a rare live cut of "Borderline." Recorded to cassette direct from the mixing board, it starts late as the sound tech almost forgot to hit the Record button. The song "Allons Danser" cuts early when side 1 of the tape ends. This tape is from a collection that suffered in the flood of Hurricane Katrina in which the band lost most of its photos, calendars, files, and guitarist Steve Picou lost several musical instruments including a custom amp, a rare Alex Musical Instruments guitar and all of his family photos.
