Title
Soul Coughing Live at First Avenue on 1996-11-18

description
This is the late show of 2 sets performed this particular evening. HBO's REVERB was filming this set, as you may recognize certain tunes if you saw that program. The HBO special is on YouTube in abhorrent audio and video quality. This is because they were downloaded as .RAMs from Soul Coughing's website (gotta love those .RAMs....the 90s were a simpler time). I have the Reverb Special in HQ quality (audio from a different source), perhaps sometime soon I'll post it youtube. Speaking of which, I also have a DVD of Soul Coughing live on July 25th 1997 at First Ave in MPLS.... I plan to post that on July 25th 2017, commemorating 20 years (as I did when I posted that one December 17 1993 set from SLAW). Keep on your toes for that, if you're interested. It includes a super rare performance of Soul Coughing doing "Thank You For Sending Me The F Train" (which appeared in acoustic form on Doughty's Skittish LP in 2000) and a cover of Beck's "Where It's At" (No, I'm not joking).  Anyway, back on topic..... This is the late show. A bootleg of the early show made its rounds back in the 90s, it's out there. The person from whom I received this particular bootleg had had both shows, however, the early show was stolen from him. Well, really, they stole a car, which happened to have the Soul Coughing bootleg in it. But for our sake, they stole the bootleg. If anybody has a copy, please come forward! This is probably all I'll upload for now, I've put up 3 shows in the past 3 days.Â
