Hey Pocky A-Way [The Meters] [14:27] Stanton Moore - drums Karl Denson - saxophone Chris Wood - bass Henry Butler - piano Leo Nocentelli - guitar According to Bee Getz at https://liveforlivemusic.com/features/karl-denson-jazz-fest/: At Tipitina’s the final Sunday, Denson joined Stanton Moore, Chris Wood, Henry Butler, and [Meters guitarist] Leo Nocentelli for one of the very first Superfly Presents ‘SuperJam’ (Oysterhead being the other show billed as such). Moore organized and directed the ensemble, and was so pleased with the results that he reconvened this very crew to recreate the songs for his Flyin’ the Coop album. RandyB's notes June 22, 2018. I found these FLACs tracked as 4 discs with tracks 6, 7 and 8 repeated on discs two and three. I removed the duplicate tracks, and re-ordered tracks 4 and 5 to my best guess of their location. I also trimmed off 13 minutes of dead space at the end of the last track. I've marked the cuts in the recording with // marks. So i'm pretty sure the order is correct, or maybe tracks 4 and 5 could be reversed but there's no way to know. I swear I have this on 3CDR's somewhere but I can't find them in my boxes or my hard drives. I can even picture these CDRs with a psychedlic blue pattern on top, I know i'll find them in these boxes and when I do it might show a different track order without cuts. For now, this is an awesome set from the Funk It Archives getting circulated again, but for the first time with a tracklist! I also found this quote from Stanton Moore on db.etree.org: "Thank you. Well Superfly, who?s now our manager, they do these super-jams down there, so I did a super-jam with Karl, and Chris Wood and me, and they had Henry Butler, this brilliant New Orleans piano player, and Leo Nocentelli form The Meters on guitar. So me and Chris and Karl Denson improvised for the first half an hour of the show together, and I knew before we even played the show that I wanted to do my next record, whatever it was going to be, with Chris."
