Off the Dome Song Demos 7/19/13 ORIGINAL POST: "Yo guys this is one of the newer pieces i've developing for a few weeks. finally put lyrics to it; figured the chorus is catchy and relevant to our beliefs about living a fruitful happy life cause ya never know what will happen next. The title is gonna be something like - Turracaine, Turtlecaine, Tortacaine, but the main premise is its supposed to be a combination of Turtle and Hurricane. Maybe Hurtlecaine, a play on Hurdle? Like an obstacle we got over? I have a feeling you'll understand when you hear the lyrics. It's not about one person in particular but definitely inspired by some recent and past events due to women and men. Have a listen and lmk if this is something you'd wanna work on. Here are ideas for group parts for this: When it gets to "for the sake of" repeating, we all start singing for the sake of, then when the chorus hits "Here today and gone tomorrow" at the beginning of each repetition of the chorus Aaron, Rob, and Spigs you guys will shout "Love!" then "Friends!" + "Family" "harmony" "respect" Love" to create the effect of us saying like "Love...Here today and gone tomorrow" "Friends...here today and gone tomorrow" "family...here today and gone tomorrow" etc. When we get to the instrumental section where it slows way down, Aaron holds us on sustaining bass notes and spigs and I do harmonizing parts and then aaron will join in, and when it gets to the like the solo part, we all start soloing in a harmonized cycle of exchanging leads as like a serious jam. we'll be able to cover all tone ranges and scale sections. Then we bring it back at the end just like how it finishes. Yes I've put a lot of thought into this song as I would REALLY like to develop this with you guys. Let me know what you think!"
