Los Lobos 7/13/2001 - Main Stage, Chene Park Amphitheatre, Chene Park, Detroit International Riverfront, Detroit, MI "Concert Of Colors" VGRM493 ********************************************************************************************************************* the Wolves from East L.A. drop into Detroit here for what can accurately be described ( & is by one of the DJs ) as a 'Motor City Throwdown'!! Yes, they are pretty much on fire at this event, ripping thru tune after tune & electrifying the audience in the process on a gorgeous summer evening in Detroit, back when life seemed so innocent ( heck, the tragic events of that September had not even happened yet!! ). Just great versions of all this stuff with musical shout-outs to the town they are playing in, like Los Lobos can always be counted on doing. Good, solid fun throughout!! This was captured in beautifully mixed FM quality...I simply added just a touch of bass to make it a tad funkier/richer. Also properly swapped the channels which I discovered were reversed as I listened thru it ( based upon the panning of the toms on the drum kit & the panning of Cesar & David's guitars, etc. ). Also crushed some bits of feedback between a couple tunes so your ears will not have to be hit by these, tastefully lowered the volume of the DJs, researched a bunch of info about the event & some other general cleanup described below.
