The earliest recording of the song appears on the CD, "The Clinic" by Russell Batiste and the Orkestra from Da Hood (2003) where it is performed as an instrumental. This was a private party from 7pm to 10pm, organized by Shari with door donation for rebuilding residences in the 9th Ward (pnola.org) projects - Phoenix of New Orleans.
