So we knew it would not be a short show, but when he had finished the beer (plus a couple of whiskeys) 3 1/2 hours had gone by and the Paradiso staff had to ask him to stop. Downstairs in the large hall Steve Lukather had played and finished his show. I don't think Grayson noticed some people had left (to catch a last train/tram). Because he had a cold Grayson sounded a bit more hoarse than he usually does. The audience was loud, but not in an annoying way, more very enthusiastic. Songs we sung along, especially by a group of people in the back of the room. Fortunately I was up front, so my mics didn't pick up much of their noise. Grayson talked about his friend Earl Maddox, who had died about one week ago. Being in Amsterdam he also talked about marijuana. I'm pleased with how the recording came out and I think it reflects very well how the interaction with the audience was. I didn't really miss the soundboard feed (the soundtec would save it for me via their own system, but somehow it failed).
