Dust to Gold came out in 2016. I remember it being a pretty emotional experience for me. I hadn’t made a record in a few years. My band had only been playing together for a few months. The songs were mostly brand new, with some being finished or written right there in the studio. At the beginning of the sessions, my wife and I found out we were expecting our first daughter. I remember bursts of excitement and inspiration interspersed with bouts of immense pressure and crippling self-doubt. Par for the course, basically 😂. It took a bunch of twists and turns and detours, but in the end, I believe we spun a damn good one.
