Estimated source mix: 80% SBD / 20% AUD. Any "phasing" or shifts in the mix were done live as the performance was taking place, in an attempt to establish a balance between the board feeds and the mics - especially in the first couple of songs, but nothing that should detract from the music itself. I was running two decks from the mixing console, so I could hand Doug a cassette immediately after the set, and keep one for myself. This is entirely straight from my master cassettes. There is a brief patch at the end, from the second master tape. I had shut the first deck off rather quickly at the end, then I decided to keep the end announcements after all, to identify the show. This doesn't affect the music in any way - it's just a bit of applause, and the house DJ, announcing the bands that had played.. This should settle any doubt as to whether or not two sets were played that day. There was an early all-ages set, and this one, a later 21+ set. The second set ran slightly shorter than the earlier set; a few different songs appear in this set (Bad Light, You Were Right), and contrary to the info on the bts.23 site, Stop The Show was not the closing track - in fact, it was not performed during this set. The bill for the late set also featured Mpls local group The Hang Ups, as well as The Shipping News (whom I also recorded). Azimuth-optimized analog/digital transfer to HD, tracking done via CDWav editor. Sound Forge processes applied: DC offset; volume level adjustments for each individual track, to compensate for live "on-the-fly" mix, and to try and esatablish a more accurate stereo image. Traders Little Helper processes applied: SBE check and repair (report included); .flac conversion (level 8). Thanks again to vinylhawk for inspiring me to dig into the archives and post both of these sets. As with all of my torrents, I'd like to ask that downloaders refrain from posting any so-called "artwork" on this torrent. I know people like to do that sort of thing, like they're making their own album art or something, but we all know that there are some scallywags even here on DIME that grab things like that with these torrents, and sell them on eBay. Besides, that kind of artwork seems like it would be a personal thing for each listener, anyway. On the other hand, if someone feels like tweaking the audio properties of these files a bit, I'm sure no one could stop you from doing that - but if you do tweak it and decide to share it with others, please make sure you let people know that it's a re-worked version, okay? Heck, why not just enjoy the music!
