Randy Described Eternity NOTES: There was obviously no way I was going to miss Built to Spill weekend 2, eventhough I had already caught them the previous weekend...they were a band I had waited 10 years to see at this festival, so I had no reservations about double dipping here, and I'm glad I did. I actually got a better spot for this set, right on the rail in front of the "guest viewing area". Funny thing is, I had a "guest pass" for the weekend, so I could have gone into this special viewing area to be closer (and amongst the "celebrities" and "VIPs") but even I have ethics and morals when it comes to that crap. I'd much rather be with the fans in the real crowd (if that makes sense?). Anyway, another cool thing about this performance was that it was a completely different set than the previous week. While many bands played the SAME set both weekends, Built to Spill played almost all entirely different songs (except 1 or 2 I think), so that was very cool I thought. At some point, I believe after "Carry the Zero", my friend came up behind me and surprised me with her appearance (though I was figuring she was going to be there), and after a few seconds leaned over to me and asked why I wasn't recording this set. Of course, I had switched from my usual method of taping to something different this day, which I guess threw her off....so I can't really blame her. I mean, I hadn't seen her for over a year, and I probably won't see her again for at least another year, so am I going to lose sleep over her talking into my mics for 10 seconds? Nah...
