You keep sending 'em, I'll keep putting 'em together! (but I hear YLT isn't doing the Chanukah thing this year...damn.) OK, now the thing I find weird about this; it has a really strange "wah'd" vibe to it. I would have sworn it was out of phase when I started to work on it, but after much testing and scope-viewing I found nothing wrong with either source. Barring that, I thought an overabundance of tube mics or pre's were used, though that's hardly common in a live venue. Then I listened to it a few times after making some test blends and I really started to dig it. Whatever the strange 3k-ish aura is, it was coming from the stage (and-or the room) and not the sources themselves. And I got used to the way it sounds. That solved, I tried to find a nice happy place for the two sources to co-exist. I'd say it's about 63% SBD and 37% AUD filled. My only peeve with the final result is that the kick-drum was so overwhelming (even on the AUD) that I lost a bit of the meat of the low-end in my control over the excessive "bip" of each strike. But I'm just being nit-picky. So, courtesy of yltfan (don't forget to thank him!) here's a rare high-quality cap of BTS for your listening pleasure, and nearly a two hour show to boot. BTW, keep your eyes and ears ready for more of yltfan's blendstravaganza of sources. 01 -warm up- 02 Stab 03 Strange 04 You Were Right 05 Built To Spill 06 The Plan 07 When Not Being Stupid Is Not Enough 08 Goin' Against Your Mind 09 I Would Hurt A Fly 10 Sidewalk 11 Alien Fugue 12 Big Dipper 13 Virginia Reel Around The Fountain 14 Carry The Zero 15 -break- 16 Stop The Show ==================== == 13 SOURCE INFO == ==================== SOURCE-1 --------- SBD>JB3>WAV SOURCE-2 --------- Schoeps MK4s (DINA on 7' stand)>Nbox>Oade line mod SBM-1@44.1 kHz>Sony PCM-M1 TRANSFER: Tascam DA-20 MkII>Emagic Audiowerk2>CD Wave Editor>FLAC Frontend 1.7.1 recorded and transferred by robertd (rdempster@gmail.com)
