Presented here is a rare acoustic gem, if you happen to be an Ass Ponys fan. The working copy for this project has been "don and terry." Chuck Cleaver and Bill Alletzhauser played together acoutically at the York Street Cafe, Newport KY, on September 22, 1997. The duo referred to one another as Don and Terry throughout the show, hence the working title. Half of the Ass Ponys of the time were joined for a few songs by local vocalist Niki Buehrig. There are some rare treats on this one. Some early Bill songs come to fore, a demonstration of things to come from Bill (see: Ruby Vileos, The Hiders, et.al.). A couple tunes from the recently released Ass Ponys album "The Known Universe" appear early on, but even the more ardent fan may find a tune or two never heard before. Chuck croons through the majestic "God's Camaro" (written after he read a hot rod magazine article about David Koresh) and "Human Brained Horse" from a tribute comp AP contributed to. One of my favorite performances. The York Street gig covers tracks 1 through 12. The balance of this list is an Ass Ponys live acoustic performance recorded at the studios of WNKU-FM on March 17, 1995. Great musical performances of early Ass Ponys rarities (live, anyway) and interesting interview discussion. All these tracks, reconverted to wav, will fit on one CDR. Artwork eventually. Link will show here. I received so much stuff in the early 2000s that I lost track of contributors. I am pretty certain that Pete B recorded this in his amazingly professional, caring way. I can't recall who sent it to me originally or who sent me the WNKU recording. I apologize... sometime things drift into the Skyy. For the detail oriented, if Pete taped York St., he used really great mics with a very dependable DAT deck. Pete is the best I've ever seen.
