Alejandro Escovedo Live at Aquarelle Restaurant on 2008-03-02
description
Alejandro Escovedo with Stephen Bruton Outdoor Terrace Aquarelle Restaurant Austin, TX March 2, 2008 A very special cancer benefit for Ms. Christie Constante, one of the teachers at Esqualita Del Alma, a bilingual elementary school that was at the time of this recording located in downtown Austin. Stephen Bruton, who was undergoing treatment for cancer himself, very much wanted to be a part of this special fund raising show. As it turned out this would be the final time that Alejandro and Stephen would play together. Bruton produced Alejandro's first three albums. The quality of both the performance and the recording is stunning, Bruton's playing added a very special texture to the show, as in the version on "Everybody Loves Me", which is one of the best, snakiest versions ever performed. This all acoustic show is special in many, many ways and it's a pleasure to share it with music lovers everywhere. This is "Austin Love" at it's best.
