*awesome crowd participation during 'Is That The Thanks I Get' !
*Cain's bouncing wood floor made for a very noisey recording (especially with all the cowboy boots)
*I had to crank the gain because I was in front of the PA - thus more handling noise
*cell phone cameras, digital cameras, and even an SLR (during "Blue Eyed Soul") can be heard snapping away - very annoying & rude
*the crowd rushed the stage during the second encore - all of a sudden there is a lot more aud & cameras & drunken idiot cowboys
*wonderful old school venue w/ a picture of Acuff Rose hanging on the wall / w/ very cool owners
*Tulsa home of Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys
*the famous Sid Vicious punched a hole in the wall backstage in '78 (photo included)

Notes:  A very quiet audience during the songs which made for great acoustics...but also made every slight noise audible.  Used a soft limiter

Notes:
To avoid having thunderous digital clips on the recording, I used a slightly steep compressor to level off the crowd cheers between songs.  This brought the applause from a clipping level to about -10db or so.  I also used a click remover plugin to take out some harsh claps happening inches from the microphones.  Even still, the music is significantly quieter than the audience cheers.  I wanted to do as little dynamic editing possible; the room sounded great, and I don't want to take all the dynamics from the recording in exchange for a more "loud" final mix.  If it's too soft, turn it up :)

*Jeff performed the final 2 songs unplugged on stage lip.  Even though we were fairly close, I boosted levels about +10db to compensate for the low signals.
